Two levee breaches reported near Highway 37 in Novato as rains pound North Bay

Officials were monitoring the situation on Highway 37 in Novato after a levee was breached in the storm on Thursday morning and threatened to inundate the roadway with water.

"Water is rising due to - what looks to be - a levy breach near Novato Creek," State Sen. Mike McGuire wrote on Twitter. "Water has not hit the highway yet, Caltrans is working on the plan to harden the road way and protect it from the rising waters."
