Jennifer Golick, a 42-year-old St. Helena resident who was clinical director at the Pathway Home treatment facility for recovering veterans, was shot and killed Friday by ex-Army soldier Albert Cheung Wong, 36, authorities said. “She was a beloved mom, sister, daughter, colleague and friend,” said her husband, Mark Golick, who briefly addressed reporters in her hometown. “She is missed terribly.

Oakland police shoot, kill allegedly armed man Published on March 12, 2018 at 08:22PM by By Sarah Ravani Oakland police shot and killed a man armed with a semi-automatic weapon Sunday evening near the MacArthur BART Station, authorities said. Officers were dispatched about 6:15 p.m. to the 900 block of 40th Street, a half-mile from the BART station, where a man was reportedly armed, according to the Oakland Police Department. Officers spotted the man and gave him verbal commands to drop the weapon, police said. “He has a semi-automatic in his right hand,” an officer said in radio communications. When the suspect did not comply with commands, police said, officers fired their weapons.

The robbery suspects led police on a chase that ended near 777 San Marin Dr., according to the Novato Police Department. Residents in surrounding neighborhoods, including Wood Hollow Drive, were asked to stay indoors and report anything suspicious. Officers used helicopters and foot patrols to search for the suspects, who were not identified. There is no immediate information on what occurred prior to the search.

On Monday, patchy fog will reduce visibility throughout the morning, with a chance for showers in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. More rain will douse the region in the evening, starting at about midnight, forecasters said. A chance for showers is expected everyday of the week until Friday, the NWS reported. San Francisco, San Jose, Concord, Napa and Livermore will receive about an inch of rain by Thursday, the NWS said.

All 5 passengers killed in helicopter used for photo shoot Published on March 12, 2018 at 10:58AM by NEW YORK (AP) — The Latest on a helicopter crash in New York City (all times local): 1:44 a.m. All five passengers have been killed in a helicopter crash into New York City's East River. A spokesman for the New York City Police Department confirmed the deaths to The Associated Press early Sunday morning. Police say a sixth person, the pilot, freed himself and was rescued by a passing tugboat on Sunday night. The helicopter was being chartered for a photo shoot when it went down near Gracie Mansion, the mayoral residence. Police and fire department divers pulled the five passengers from the helicopter.
