Suspected drunk driver hits 4 pedestrians in Santa Rosa Published on March 12, 2018 at 05:13AM by By Wendy Lee Santa Rosa police arrested an 18-year-old driver Sunday who is suspected of hitting four pedestrians while driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene. Jose Gil Ortiz-Ortiz was driving his Ford Explorer early Sunday morning, when he struck four pedestrians on the sidewalk outside a restaurant on Fourth Street and Brookwood Avenue in Santa Rosa, according to police, who were dispatched to the scene at 1:48 a.m. He then left on Brookwood Avenue, traveling about two blocks before his car stopped, according to police. Ortiz-Ortiz fled on foot, and later a police dog found him hiding in some bushes on Second Street, Santa Rosa police said.
