SFGATE: Giuliani: Trump repaid Cohen $130K for payment to porn star

Giuliani: Trump repaid Cohen $130K for payment to porn star Published on May 03, 2018 at 09:54AM by By CATHERINE LUCEY and JILL COLVIN, Associated Press WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump's new lawyer Rudy Giuliani said Wednesday that Trump repaid his personal attorney Michael Cohen for a $130,000 payment to porn star Stormy Daniels, directly contradicting the president's past statements. During an appearance on Fox News Channel's "Hannity," Giuliani said the money had been "funneled ... through the law firm and the president repaid it." Asked if Trump knew about the arrangement, Giuliani said: "He didn't know about the specifics of it, as far as I know. But he did know about the general arrangement, that Michael would take care of things like this, like I take care of things like this for my clients. I don't burden them with every single thing that comes along.

SFGATE: Stormy Daniels' lawyer to unveil evidence on Colbert Show

Stormy Daniels' lawyer to unveil evidence on Colbert Show Published on May 03, 2018 at 05:58AM by Ross A. Lincoln, provided by Michael Avenatti, who represents Stormy Daniels in her legal fights with President Trump, says he will reveal new evidence on Wednesday night’s episode of “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.” In a preview of the episode, Colbert held up a sheet of paper he described as a “new piece of evidence,” and then asked Avenatti to describe it to the audience. The clip ended there, tantalizingly, before Avenatti delivered his answer. Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, is suing Trump to vacate the nondisclosure agreement she signed in 2016 for $130,000 paid by Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen. She is also suing Trump for defamation after he called some of her statements “fraud” on Twitter.
