The suggestions were part of a five-page tip sheet published by the Coast Guard Support Program, an employee-assistance arm of the service often known as CG SUPRT. It is designated to offer Coast Guard members help with mental-health issues or other concerns about their lives, including financial wellness. The Coast Guard receives funding from the Department of Homeland Security, and is subjected to the shuttering of parts of the government along with DHS's other agencies.

The breakdown in talks left no end in sight for the shutdown on its 19th day. Trump continued to demand billions for his U.S.-Mexico border wall as a condition for reopening the government, a push Democrats have continually rejected. During the White House meeting, Democrats once again pressed Trump to reopen most of the government. Trump refused, instead asking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., whether she would agree to his wall.

Because walls work." Trump Jr.'s social media habits, much like his father's, have often landed him in hot water. Donald Trump Jr. on Tuesday compared immigrants to zoo animals in a controversial Instagram post regarding the wall his father wants to build along the US-Mexico border.  Though the post does not appear on his main profile, a source close to Trump Jr.
