While hundreds of El Cerrito High School students crammed into the central quad Wednesday carrying signs such as “Protect children, not guns,” at least two stayed silent when everyone cheered for gun control. Diego Anderson and Daniel Reales, both 17-year-old juniors, each carried an American flag to the rally, part of a national student walkout denouncing gun violence and honoring the 17 high school students and staffers killed by a gunman last month in Parkland, Fla. “I’m good with honoring the 17 victims, but I’m really not for gun control,” Reales said as he waved his flag. “If you look at data, gun control is ridiculous,” Anderson said.
