Falling trees are wrecking homes, crushing cars, and blocking roads

With winds gusting at speeds as high as 75 miles per hour at some elevations, forecasters' warnings about the risk of downed power lines and trees came to fruition on Wednesday as trees were blown down onto homes, cars and roads around the Bay Area and along the central coast.
